How much silica gel do I need?

A general rule is 1g of silica gel per liter of enclosed space. For example, a shoebox needs about 5g, a wardrobe needs 50–100g, and a shipping container needs 750–1050g (our Container Desiccant bags).

How do I know when to replace or reactivate the silica gel?

White silica gel turns slightly translucent or feels heavier when saturated. Blue indicator gel changes from blue to pink. Orange indicator gel changes from orange to green. That's your signal to reactivate.

Can I reuse silica gel?

Yes — all our silica gel products can be reactivated and reused multiple times. Simply bake at 120°C for 1–2 hours in a regular oven to restore full absorption capacity.

Is silica gel safe?

Our white silica gel is non-toxic and food-safe, suitable for placing near packaged food, vitamins, and supplements. Blue and orange indicator gels contain cobalt chloride or methyl violet respectively — keep these away from direct food contact.

What's the difference between blue and orange silica gel?

Both are indicator gels that change color when saturated. Blue gel uses cobalt chloride (blue → pink). Orange gel uses methyl violet (orange → green). Orange is the safer, cobalt-free alternative preferred for export and food-adjacent applications.
